The free tier is real: 1M tokens a month at 60 requests per minute, with no card. Whether you get genuine Opus 5.5 or GPT-6 Astra is unverified.
A post going around this week promises free Claude Opus 5.5, GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos Preview through FreeModel, plus 1M tokens for verifying your Telegram. We checked freemodel.in's home, pricing, models and signup pages on November 5.
- True: the free plan gives 1M tokens a month and 60 requests per minute. Every plan, Free included, lists all 42 models.
- True: one OpenAI-compatible endpoint for Cursor, Cline and Claude Code. No card is needed, and paid plans take UPI or USDT.
- Not on the site: the Telegram step. The pages only link a Telegram channel and chat.
- Red flag: FreeModel sells Claude Mythos Preview, which its own catalog calls "not yet generally released".
- Red flag: the Starter plan costs $1.20 for 30M tokens ($0.04 per 1M) on the same models. FreeModel's own overage rate is about $8 per 1M.
Verdict: a real free tier from an unofficial reseller. Nobody can confirm that requests reach Anthropic or OpenAI.
