Modal for Startups

Overview

Modal for Startups is the startup program for Modal's serverless compute platform for AI workloads. Accepted startups receive free GPU credits, technical support and community access. The page states that credits are a one-time grant and that you may not reapply once you have received credits in a given tier. Two tiers are listed: "Seed to Series A" and "Scaling and Series B+".

• One-time grant: credits are a one-time grant and you may not reapply once you have received credits in a given tier.
• Engineering and GTM support: direct access to Modal's engineering team for technical support and GTM amplification on launches and raises.
• Founder community: an exclusive network of founders building complex AI applications on Modal, through online and in-person events.

Eligibility

• Customers that are new to Modal and meet the tier requirements are eligible to apply; a payment method is required.
• Seed to Series A: raised any amount of VC funding from Modal's VC partner network, or raised VC funding >$1m from any fund.
• Scaling and Series B+: raised VC funding > $30m or post-Series B, with a VC that is part of Modal's partner network.
• Partner funds listed on the page include Y Combinator, a16z, Sequoia, Khosla Ventures, Neo, HF0, Pear and Lux Capital.

How to Apply

1. Open modal.com/startups and use the Apply Now link (modal.com/startups#apply).
2. Sign up for a Modal account and add a payment method if you have not already.
3. Submit the application with your company and funding details.
