Overview
Exoscale is a European public cloud with zones in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Bulgaria. According to Exoscale's official quick-start documentation, a new account that saves a credit card and enters the platform in Post-paid Billing mode is immediately credited 20 EUR/CHF to try the platform.
Free Tier Quotas & Limits
- Credit amount: 20 EUR or 20 CHF, depending on the account currency.
- Claim conditions: save a credit card during registration and choose Post-paid Billing. Exoscale reserves the equivalent 20 EUR/CHF on the card at the same time; the amount is only pre-authorised, not charged, and is released by the card issuer (usually within 30 days or at the end of the month).
- The credit applies to standard, non-discounted public rates and cannot be combined with pre-paid top-ups, cashed out, or transferred between organisations.
- Exoscale reserves the right to withhold the free credit for multiple registrations and to expire offered credit. No fixed expiry timer is published.
- If usage exceeds the free allowance, the saved card is charged for the overage; stay under it and nothing is due.
What the Credit Covers
Compute instances (x86 and NVIDIA GPU shapes), Scalable Kubernetes Service (SKS), DBaaS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, OpenSearch, Valkey/Redis-compatible, Kafka), S3-compatible Object Storage, block storage, private networking and load balancers.
