Overview
Ollama runs open models locally and, since its cloud launch, in Ollama's own cloud. The pricing page lists a Free plan at $0: "Use any cloud model with pay-as-you-go usage credits", with "Starter usage credits included" and "access to starter models".
Free Tier Quotas & Limits
- "Free accounts include a starter amount of usage for a smaller set of starter models. Buying usage credits unlocks all models." The amount and the starter model list are not published.
- "On the Free plan, usage resets monthly from the date you signed up." Unused usage does not roll over.
- "Free includes 1 concurrent request"; extra requests are queued and rejected when the queue is full.
- Usage is measured in tokens at each model's listed rates; running models on your own hardware is always unlimited.
- Ollama states prompt and response data is never logged or trained on.
How to Get Started
Sign up at ollama.com, create an API key and set it as OLLAMA_API_KEY, then call cloud models through the ollama.com API or the Ollama app and CLI. Check current usage in the account's usage page.
