Oracle Cloud Free Tier

Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure offers a Free Tier that combines a 30-day Free Trial with Always Free services. Oracle's Free Tier FAQ states that new accounts receive US$300 of free credit to use on all eligible OCI services for up to 30 days, while Always Free services remain available for an unlimited period.

Free Tier Quotas & Limits

Free Trial:

• US$300 of credit, valid until consumed or for up to 30 days, whichever comes first.
• One Free Trial or Always Free account per person. A credit or debit card is required for identity verification; it is not charged unless you explicitly upgrade to Pay As You Go.
• The credit is available in select countries and can be spent across Compute (including GPU shapes), OCI Generative AI, Autonomous Database, containers, storage and networking.

Always Free (home region only, no time limit):

• Compute: up to two AMD micro VMs (VM.Standard.E2.1.Micro) and 1,500 OCPU hours plus 9,000 GB hours per month of Ampere A1 (VM.Standard.A1.Flex), equivalent to 2 OCPUs and 12 GB memory for Always Free tenancies.
• Storage: 200 GB combined boot/block volume and 20 GB object storage.
• Database: two Autonomous AI Databases with 20 GB storage each.
• Networking: 10 TB per month of outbound data transfer, one 10 Mbps load balancer, VCNs and subnets.
• Monitoring, logging and vault allowances are also included.

How to Get Started

1. Sign up at signup.oraclecloud.com, verify your email and set a password.
2. Choose a home region carefully: Always Free resources can only be created there, and it cannot be changed later.
3. Complete card verification and accept the terms; the US$300 credit is provisioned immediately.
4. After 30 days, Always Free resources keep running; upgrading to Pay As You Go lifts restrictions and bills only usage above the free limits.
