How the Free Tier Works
- Optimal Cost Deduction: The Free Tier automatically applies to your most expensive consumed tokens first, maximizing your cost savings.
- Billing Unit: Once consumption surpasses the 1,000,000-token or 60-minute limit, usage is billed based on standard per-million-token or per-minute rates, with a minimum billing unit of 1,000 tokens.
- Multi-Project Distribution: For accounts operating across multiple project IDs, the Free Tier credit is distributed proportionally across projects based on their relative API consumption.
- Feature Access: Compatible with OpenAI SDKs, LangChain, and the web-based Generative APIs Playground for testing text generation, embeddings, vision, and audio models.
