Evot Free Models

Overview

Evot is an open-source terminal coding agent (Apache-2.0) with a deliberately tiny ~1k-token harness: four tools (bash, read, edit, write) plus Skills loaded on demand. The agent comes with hosted model access, so no API key is needed to start — install the CLI and run evot login to use the currently featured model at no cost.

Free Tier Quotas & Limits

• The featured free model rotates. As of 2026-09-11, gpt-5.6-luna (OpenAI) is free through September 18, 2026 — just evot login to claim it.
• Evot advertises unlimited tokens on its plans: Evot Free is funded by sponsors (currently Databend Cloud, whose branding may appear in designated ad spaces inside the tool), and Evot Premium is available to organizations with an active paid Databend Cloud account. The distinction is eligibility, not model quality or token allowance.
• Usage stats published on the site's model data page show gpt-5.6-luna serving 15.4B tokens across 143,695 requests in the last 30 days as the free tier.
• Alternatively, bring your own keys — Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Kimi, OpenRouter, or any compatible endpoint — via ~/.evotai/evot.env.

How to Get Started

1. Install: curl -fsSL https://evot.ai/install | sh (macOS and Linux).
2. Run evot login and follow the prompts — you land in the TUI with the free model ready.
3. To use your own provider later, set EVOT_LLM_* variables in ~/.evotai/evot.env.
