Overview
OMOPHub is a hosted API for OMOP medical vocabularies: search, map and resolve codes across SNOMED CT, ICD-10, LOINC, RxNorm and 120+ terminologies (11M+ concepts), with a FHIR terminology service and an MCP server that lets AI agents look up and map clinical codes. The Free plan costs $0 and includes 3,000 API calls per month.
Free Tier Quotas & Limits
- 3,000 API calls per month; each request counts as one call and failed (4xx/5xx) requests are not counted
- Current vocabulary release only (paid plans add older releases)
- Lexical search, basic semantic search, cross-vocabulary mapping, FHIR Terminology Service and FHIR to OMOP resolver
- Rate limit: 120 requests per 60 seconds with a burst of 20 per 10 seconds (about 2 per second)
- Ticket support; the free tier can be changed or withdrawn without notice (terms 5.5)
- Vocabulary licences still apply: SNOMED CT needs an affiliate licence outside member territories, RxNorm needs a free UMLS registration
How to Get Started
- Sign in at dashboard.omophub.com with a provider or an email link (no card asked).
- Generate an API key in the dashboard.
- Install the SDK (
pip install omophub, or the R / TypeScript SDK) or callhttps://api.omophub.com/v1withAuthorization: Bearer <key>; AI clients can use the hosted MCP server instead.
Paid plans start at $39 a month for 50,000 calls.
