Overview
Railway is a platform-as-a-service for deploying apps, databases and services from a Git repository. New accounts receive a one-time $5 trial credit that expires in 30 days, and the ongoing Free plan includes $1 of free credit per month. Usage is metered per second across RAM, CPU, storage and egress.
Free Plan Limits
- $1/month credit on the Free plan, with no rollover between months.
- 0.5 GB RAM and 1 vCPU per service, 1 GB ephemeral storage and 0.5 GB volume storage.
- 1 replica per service and a 4 GB maximum image size.
- One-click PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis and MongoDB services share the same credit allocation.
- Trial resources are larger: 1 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 1 GB ephemeral and 0.5 GB volume storage, up to 2 replicas.
- Any trial balance remaining when you upgrade carries over to the new plan.
Usage Pricing
- RAM: $10/GB/month; vCPU: $20/vCPU/month.
- Volume storage: $0.15/GB/month; network egress: $0.05/GB.
- The Hobby plan at $5/month includes $5 of usage credit.
How to Get Started
- Sign up at railway.com with GitHub or email; the $5 trial credit is applied automatically.
- Deploy from a Git repo, template or Docker image.
- When the trial credit is exhausted the account continues on the Free plan with its $1/month allowance.
Note that Railway deletes volume data 30 days after a Free or Trial plan expires, so export anything you need before then. Plan details are documented at docs.railway.com.
