Convex for Startups

Overview

Convex runs a startup program that gives eligible companies up to 1 year of Convex Professional at no cost, waiving the normal $25 per developer per month seat fee, and applies 30% off usage-based fees up to $30,000 in savings. Convex is a TypeScript-first backend with a built-in database, functions, file storage, scheduling, search and AI agent components.

Eligibility

• Series A or earlier stage.
• Fewer than 20 employees.
• Company less than 3 years old.
• Less than $3 million raised in total; bootstrapped companies qualify.
• A live website or MVP-stage product and a public company profile.
• An active Convex Starter plan with a card on file before applying.

How to Get Started

1. Create a Convex account and project, then upgrade to the Starter plan with a card on file.
2. Apply at convex.dev/startups/apply with company, funding and headcount details.
3. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Approved teams keep the same project and receive Professional benefits plus the usage discount.
4. After 12 months the account returns to standard pricing.

Note: usage beyond the included quotas is billed, so the program reduces cost rather than removing it.
