Customer.io Startup Program

Overview

The Customer.io Startup Program gives eligible early-stage companies free access to Customer.io's customer messaging platform — Journeys, Data Pipelines, Messaging and an AI Agent. The headline offer is "Get up to 12 months of Customer.io free" with up to 30,000 customer profiles at no cost. A partner track is also offered: "Join 150+ accelerators, venture firms, and founder communities."

Program Credits & Benefits

• Up to 12 months free access on the Startup plan: "Startup includes all Essentials features with additional user profiles", 30k profiles (people + objects) included, email, SMS and push notifications, limited support, billed monthly.
• Overage pricing: "$0.007 per additional profile."
• Timeline: application review typically takes 24 to 48 hours; a 14-day trial begins immediately and program benefits begin automatically after the trial ends; a check-in happens at 60 days left, followed by a graduation offer. Cancel anytime.
• Support: questions and outgrowing the program go to [email protected].

Eligibility

• "Your business has raised less than $10 million in total funding" — the application page confirms it is "Now accepting startups with up to $10 million in funding."
• "They must be obtained through standard methods, not purchased" (contact lists).
• "Your business is currently not and has never been a customer of Customer.io."
• For eligible new customers only; "Yes. We require a credit card for all Startup Program accounts." Charges apply only if the profile limit is exceeded or you continue on a paid plan after the term.
• Above $10M in funding, Customer.io says it will "gladly find the best plan for you."

How to Apply

1. Complete the Startup Program application at customer.io/startup-program-application.
2. Create a Customer.io trial account using the same email address (or apply with the email of an existing trial).
3. Wait 24-48 hours for review; benefits begin automatically after the 14-day trial ends.
