Overview

Freebuff is an ad-funded coding platform that makes its whole stack free: a terminal CLI, a desktop app for parallel coding agents, a prompt-to-app web builder with managed hosting, a cloud IDE for GitHub repos, and a general AI chat. Everything is listed at $0/yr - no subscription, no credit card, and no API keys. Sign in with GitHub or Google to start.

Models

The default model is GLM 5.3 Flash, joined in the picker by DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, GPT-5.6 Luna, MiMo 2.5, Solar Pro 4 (limited-time trial), and Muse Spark 1.2 (1M context; queues when busy). At full access, GLM 5.3 Flash, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, MiMo 2.5, and Solar Pro 4 are unmetered and cost no session. Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite handles specialist tasks such as file finding. The desktop app can also run locally installed Claude Code or Codex agents through your own provider account.

Free Allowances

Where the app shows a Freebucks balance, free accounts get 100 Freebucks per day with full access (25 in limited mode). Freebucks buy one-hour model sessions, refill at midnight Pacific, and unused ones don't carry over. Where the app shows session allowances instead, limited mode includes 6 one-hour sessions per day, earnable up to 7 via referrals and bounties.

Full vs Limited Mode

Freebuff works in every country. Full access covers the US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Israel, and 18 European countries; everyone else - and VPN users - gets limited mode with four models (GLM 5.3 Flash, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, MiMo 2.5, Solar Pro 4).

How to Get Started

  • CLI: npm install -g freebuff, then run freebuff in your project (Node.js 18+, macOS/Windows/Linux).
  • Desktop: download for macOS (Apple Silicon/Intel), Windows (x64/ARM64 or the no-AVX2 build for pre-2013 Intel/pre-2015 AMD CPUs), or Linux.
  • Web: prompt to a live, hosted app. Cloud: run the agent in a cloud IDE on any GitHub repo.

Desktop builds aren't code-signed yet, so macOS needs right-click → Open and Windows may flag SmartScreen. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and Muse Spark 1.2 may use data for AI training, and prompts may be analyzed to personalize ads.
