Overview
Databricks for Startups supports early-stage companies with platform credits and technical guidance. Qualifying startups can receive up to $200K in credits for Databricks and Neon, and can apply directly or ask their investor.
Program Credits & Benefits
- Credits: Up to $200K in combined Databricks and Neon credits. The exact amount depends on your stage and funding. Self-funded startups with less than $1M in funding can receive up to $1,000 in Neon credits, while VC-backed startups with at least $1M in funding or participation in a recognized accelerator such as Y Combinator can receive up to $200K in Neon and Databricks credits.
- Validity: Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of acceptance. When they run out or expire, the account continues on the selected plan and is billed normally for usage beyond the credit.
- Hands-on guidance: Startup credits and technical guidance help teams build and ship data products faster.
- Solution Accelerators: Fully functional notebooks and best practices for outcomes such as LLM-based recommendations, product onboarding, product search, and time-series forecasting.
- Platform: A unified, open platform for data, analytics, and AI with elastic scalability and enterprise-grade security and governance.
- Ecosystem: Access to partner foundation models via Databricks Model Serving, early-stage investment and go-to-market partners, plus community resources such as a LinkedIn group, blog, and startup events.
Eligibility
The program supports self-funded, early-stage startups with less than $1M in funding and early-stage product development, as well as VC-backed startups with at least $1M in funding or participation in a recognized startup accelerator. The separate Databricks AI Accelerator Program is invitation-only.
How to Apply
- Apply through the official Databricks startup program application form, or ask your investor about a referral.
- Existing Neon or Databricks users can apply; approved credits are added to the current account with no migration needed.
- The team reviews each application and typically responds within a few business days.
