Largest Free LLM Token Allowances
Free LLM and embedding APIs ranked by how many free tokens they give, one-time pools and monthly allowances, with card rules and catches.
Dollar credits hide the number that matters for building: how many tokens you can push through before paying. This chart ranks every verified offer that states its free allowance in tokens. One-time pools and monthly allowances are ranked together on the headline number - the line under each value says which one it is. For rate-limited free tiers without a token figure, see free LLM APIs.
| # | Offer | Free tokens | Card | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | DeepInfra DeepStart 50 Billion Free Inference Tokens | 50,000,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | Token grant is valued at DeepSeek V4 Flash prices and expires one year after approval; startups must have raised $250K-$10M and be founded within the last 2 years. |
| 2 | Voyage AI Free Embedding and Reranking Tokens | 200,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | Without a payment method you are held to 3 requests and 10K tokens a minute; the published 2,000 RPM limits need a card on file (Usage Tier 1). Older model generations get no free tokens. |
| 3 | Inception - 100M Free Tokens for Mercury 3 | 100,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | One-time grant for new accounts, then paid usage (Mercury 3: $0.10/1M input, $0.35/1M output at a 50% launch discount). Mercury 2 and 2.5 are no longer open to new users. |
| 4 | IteraCompute free Qwen3.8-27B | 30,000,000 tokens/monthresets monthly | no card | Brand-new operator (domain registered Aug 2026, identity not disclosed) hosting the model itself - treat it as untrusted infrastructure. Free tier has no SLA, queues at peak, and 160K TPM cap. |
| 5 | Free.ai Startup Grant | 15,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | Acceptance is application-based, and the grant covers Free.ai's self-hosted models but not premium external models. |
| 6 | Jina AI 10M Free API Tokens | 10,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | The 10M tokens are one-time and shared across all Jina APIs; a web search costs from 10,000 tokens. The Reader models are CC-BY-NC 4.0, so self-hosting them commercially needs a license. |
| 7 | NaraRouter Free Tier | 7,000,000 tokens/dayresets daily | no card | Free access covers only the three free models at 15 requests per minute under a fair-use policy; all other models require a paid plan. |
| 8 | Alibaba Cloud Model Studio Free Token Quota | 1,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | Quota expires 90 days after activation (or model release/approval, whichever is latest), covers real-time inference only in the Singapore region, and is shared by the account plus its RAM users. |
| 9 | Scaleway Generative APIs Free Tier | 1,000,000 tokensone-time pool | no card | Free Tier applies to your most expensive tokens first; once exceeded, per-token billing starts with a 1,000-token minimum billing unit. |
| 10 | IBM watsonx.ai Lite Plan | 300,000 tokens/monthresets monthly | no card | Rate-limited to 2 inference requests per second, custom foundation models are not available, and you cannot downgrade back to Lite after upgrading. |
| 11 | AnyAPI Free Tier | 100,000 tokens/dayresets daily | no card | The daily 100K ₳nyTokens cover basic and free models only - premium models need a paid plan, free API calls are rate-limited, and there is no SLA. |
| 12 | LLM7.io Free Tier | 100,000 tokens/dayresets daily | no card | Token usage counts input plus output combined against the daily cap, and per-second/minute/hour request limits apply; a free token is required for the 100,000 tokens/day allowance. |
How this chart is ranked
Verified offers whose headline value is a token count, sorted by that count, largest first; ties sorted by name. Offers that grant image or platform tokens rather than model tokens (under 10,000) are excluded.
Rows come from the same catalog as the offer pages, re-checked monthly. Values are what each provider states; aifree.dev never converts credits or tokens into dollars. See how we verify.
Frequently asked questions
- How many tokens is a typical chat message?
- A short chat exchange is usually a few hundred to a couple of thousand tokens; a coding agent session that reads files can use hundreds of thousands. A one-million-token allowance is plenty for experiments and thin for daily agent work.
- Is a one-time pool better than a monthly allowance?
- Not necessarily. A large one-time pool is good for a burst of work; a smaller allowance that resets every month keeps a side project running indefinitely. The note under each value tells you which kind it is.
- Are these tokens usable with any model?
- No. Each provider limits its free tokens to its own models, and some only to specific ones (an embedding model, a single LLM). The offer page lists which models the allowance covers.
