Most "free AI presentation maker" lists mix real free plans with trials that end in two weeks. We read each vendor's own pages on 2026-11-01. Three tools have a genuine free plan: Gamma, Pitch and SlidesAI. Beautiful.ai has no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Canva and Tome are left out because we could not read them, explained below.
None of these is in our verified catalog yet, so the table links each vendor's own page. Offer drafts for Gamma, Pitch and SlidesAI are ready for import.

| Pitch | Free "forever": unlimited presentations, custom templates, basic sharing links, 2 external guests | 100 AI credits, one-time ("does not renew once used"); no PowerPoint export on Free | 2026-11-01 |

Gamma: the most complete deck from a prompt, on credits that run out #
Gamma generates a whole deck, document or webpage from a prompt. On the Free plan every AI action uses credits, and Gamma's help center says credits "do not refresh": "Once your initial credits are used, you must either earn more through referrals or upgrade to a paid plan." Free users earn 200 credits per referral and can hold up to 2,000 at once. Credits are metered per slide and per image, and longer generations and more advanced models use more. Gamma does not charge credits when an action fails or when it asks a clarifying question. The help articles we could read do not state the starting balance, so check the number shown in your account.
Exports are the catch. Gamma's export article says the "Made by Gamma" badge appears on PDF and PPTX exports while your workspace is on the Free plan, and it stays on exports you made earlier. Printing from the browser while signed in adds no badge. You can export to PDF, PNG and PowerPoint.

Pitch: unlimited decks, a small one-time AI allowance #
Pitch's pricing page lists the Free plan as "€0 forever" for individuals: unlimited presentations, custom templates, basic sharing links, engagement analytics and 2 external guests who can edit with you. It includes 100 AI credits to "speed up slide creation", and "This amount does not renew once used". Plus (€10 a month paying yearly) adds 500 AI credits per month, custom fonts, video uploads, PowerPoint exports without Pitch branding and 5 guests. PDF exports are branded on Free. Pitch is the best choice here if you build decks by hand and use AI only now and then.

SlidesAI: a monthly credit allowance, with a short input #
SlidesAI turns text into slides. Its Basic plan is $0 a month with 200 AI credits per month, the Lite and Balanced AI models, creation from a topic or notes, and one brand kit where you import your own PPTX template. The limiting number is the input: 2,500 characters per presentation, roughly a page of notes. Pro ($10 a user a month, billed $120 a year) raises it to 50,000 characters, adds PDF and Word upload and the Advanced models. The pricing page does not say whether Basic exports are watermarked.

Beautiful.ai: trial only #
Beautiful.ai's pricing page offers "a 14-day free trial of Pro or Team" and no permanent free plan. Pro is $14.50 a month billed annually for individuals, and Team is $40 per user a month billed annually. If you only need one deck, the trial can cover it, but export before it ends and put a reminder in your calendar.

Canva and Tome: not confirmed #
On 2026-11-01 canva.com answered our automated requests with a browser challenge and we could not read its pricing or Magic Design limits, so we state nothing about them. Canva is widely used for slides; read its pricing page before choosing. tome.app returned "DEPLOYMENT_NOT_FOUND", so we found nothing current to check.
Which one to use #
- A fast first draft from a prompt: Gamma, knowing the credits are finite and exports carry a badge.
- Decks you build yourself with a little AI: Pitch.
- Turning a page of notes into slides in your own template: SlidesAI.
- A single polished deck, once: the Beautiful.ai trial.
- Need a clean PDF on a free plan: Gamma's browser print has no badge; check any other tool's branding before the day of your talk.
Limits and the catch #
- Free credits are small. Gamma's and Pitch's AI credits are one-time, and SlidesAI's are a small monthly amount; generate an outline first, then spend credits on the final deck.
- Check every fact on the slides. AI decks invent statistics and sources: why models make things up.
- Free is paid for somehow. Vendors give away credits to sell paid plans: see why AI companies give it away.
- Plans move. Credits and limits change; the date beside each row is our check, and the date at the top of the page is the latest.
Understand it
A few minutes of play-along, no sign-up.
- Why does it invent sources that don't exist? · Hallucination · 3 min
- Why is it free? · Free tiers: a busy GPU makes tokens for cents, and free buys customers, data or idle hours · 5 min
